In what areas are your services available?

Blue Parasol Home Care serves clients and families throughout New York’s five boroughs: Manhattan, Queens, Brooklyn, Staten Island, and Bronx. Also, Nassau and Westchester counties.

Who needs in-home care?

Any older adult who requires assistance with activities of daily living, including housekeeping, bathing, dressing, hygiene, meal preparation, shopping, or ambulation assistance, or who simply needs a companion for conversation or transportation to and from appointments can benefit from Blue Parasol’s New York home care services.

Are your home care services covered through Medicare, Medicaid, or insurance?

While our non-medical home care services are not covered under Medicare or Medicaid, we can refer your family to a Medicare or Medicaid provider if necessary. If you or your loved one has a long-term care insurance plan, home care services may be covered under the terms of that plan. Please reach out to us if you have any concerns.

Is your agency licensed?

Yes. Blue Parasol Home Care is licensed by the New York State Department of Health as a full-service private duty home care agency.

Are your caregivers insured and bonded?

Yes. All of our caregivers are employed by Blue Parasol and are insured and bonded for your family’s peace of mind.

Who can receive in-home care?

Will I be able to reach a caregiver after hours? If so, how can I contact someone after hours?

Yes. Blue Parasol has a caregiver on call 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Simply call our offices after hours and you will be connected to our on-call caregiver.

How quickly can I arrange for service?

Services can typically be set up within 24-48 hours after your in-home assessment.

What if my caregiver is sick and cannot make it to my house?

If a caregiver is sick and cannot make it to your home, Blue Parasol’s schedulers will make every reasonable effort to match you with another caregiver who meets your care needs and criteria for that day.

What kind of training do your caregivers receive?

Our caregivers receive initial orientation training and ongoing care training from our dedicated staff. All caregivers receive 6 hours of in-service training twice a year for a total of 12 hours of training on emergency preparedness, CPR training, and infection control.
